My opinion FWIW is actually up to closer to £40k there isn't an outstanding alternative value for money. Above that price you need to get a Tesla (I might not get a Tesla because Elon is such a douche and the badge is now one of shame)

Indeed. And not to rub it in too much but...
Because we don't have a local car production industry to defend, we don't have high import duties and tariffs on cars, so the Chinese built are much cheaper here than in Europe and the US.
Our recently purchased Excite 51 (AKA SE SR) cost Au$34k (£17k) brand new, a years registration and compulsory 3rd party insurance, ready to drive away.
Our Essence Long Range 77 (AKA Trophy ER) was $40k, albeit we did get it for $6k less than we should have, but not complaining

There seems to have been a glut in reviews of the MG4 of late. After all the UK sales hype of 2023 being second highest sales in UK for 2024 I have no idea
