MG4 Trophy not plugged in but states it is.

Car thinks it’s plugged in, but does not recognise charger. It is not plugged in. It will not select D or R. What can I do?

Try re-booting the system. Hold down the home button until system shuts down an restarts. If not helped you can disconnect battery for a while to reboot everything. Next would be calling the AA

Tried rebooting and disconnecting battery.
Same result when system came back on.
Tried AA before, they hadn’t got a clue what the car was doing. It has done this before and cleared itself. dealership stated they couldn’t find anything wrong!

I don't know if there is a sensor in the charging port flap catch but it might be worth checking that it is fully closed.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but I am having the same problem. Did you ever get a solution?

I have had several occasions when I have had stupid messages, once it would not start so I went to my mg 4 info screen and selected safety then shutdown the system, counted to 10 and put my foot on brake and all started.
