Just updating in case this helps someone else.
I bought a V2L cable for our 2022 MG4 and initially thought it wasn’t working because the screen kept doing this:
“Plug in the discharge connector”
Then “Discharge connector connect…”
Then after a few seconds “Discharge finished”
No power output at all, even after pressing Start several times and trying with cable locked and unlocked.
The issue turned out to be the battery discharge threshold setting.
My battery was at 35%, but the discharge minimum had been set to 50%, so the car immediately stopped V2L because it was protecting the battery from going below the set limit.
Lowered the threshold below current battery level and it worked straight away.
Worth checking if anyone else gets the same message, because the car doesn’t explain it very clearly.
