Slight swerve. ? Somebody threw an egg on my bonnet years ago now. They obviously thought it was funny. ?
And it was a very hot day, it literally fried on the bonnet. And it was a bastard to get
off. ? And no I didn't have Bacon with it. ?

Bird poo removal is a matter of starting weak and getting stronger until it eventually goes.

1. First try water spot spot remover (like 50/50 white vinegar/water).
2. Try a hand polish with Autoglym SRP (Super Resin Polish).
3. Using a machine polisher with 3" pads and a cutting compound gently go over the area and repeatedely buff off the polish to see if it's gone. Repeat as necesssary if progress is made.
4. Failing that I have wet sanded the area with 2500 wet sanding paper with gently straight line movements followed by step 3 to bring back the shine of the paint and Step 2 to refine the finish to a nice glossy black finish. Then give them some protection - spray sealant etc...

The longer it's been there in hot sun the more it can etch the paint.

For future bird poo incidents have some MF cloths and detailing spray in the boot to wipe off asap - soak any dried on bits by placing a damp MF cloth or kitchen roll over the poo for about 15 minutes to soften it up.

Thanks. ? Not happy the dealer didn't spot this - but guessing the apprentice gets the envious job of washing cars when readying for the customer and no-one gives a stuff. Have some SRP on hand so will try 1 & 2 for starters and see if that sorts it. ?

Wouldn't mind as much if it was down to my own inaction/not removing quick enough, but up to a week ago its been sat on a boat/parked-up wherever for 10 months and should have been spotted/fixed as part of the PDI ?

Well-
What happened was -

Salty had a bonnet
And an egg was broken on it
An ohmlet wasn’t needed
So we scrampled it unheeded
Now Salty’s gone an’ fainted
‘Cos his bonnet’s needin’

What colour did you go for ?

Please let us know what the manufacture date was and what charging cables you get too ... The build date should be in your glove box on the CoC form. It will be good info for others ?
