There's something very strange with taxi registrations being from Wolverhampton. Most of the Taxi's in Derby have been registered in Wolverhampton. I assumed maybe they are cheaper for licensing or maybe they have inferior checks, or something similar. I'm also seeing them in Doncaster and Sheffield on a regular basis.Saw me 1st MG4 (SE) being used as a Taxi today. Saw loads of EV Taxis, but never an MG4. City of Wolverhampton.
So way off his beaten track. Wouldn't like to pay that fare.![]()
EDIT - Ah, explains it (bit of both of what I thought)
Wolverhampton's taxi licensing hit with five-month delays, union claims
GMB Union says some taxi drivers wait up to five months to have their licence renewed.
Another site "The majority of the private hire vehicle licences issued in Wolverhampton were registered to drivers outside of the city. Only 1,310 were currently registered to residents, with a whopping 95.5 per cent of applicants living elsewhere"
