It doesn't have to be locked. Charging will pause for around 60 seconds when you unlock, then it will resume. Just wait for it to start again, then turn it on to ready.
Yes it is possibleMaybe I'm talking nonsense as I don't even have the car yet, but having looked at documentation, isn't the i-Smart app supposed to be able to be used to remotely turn on the A/C, demisting etc?
