This happen to me once, turned car on and started flicking forward and reversing quickly, to park in parking space, car just froze, was un-able to turn off -do anything. headlights on. After leaving it alone for 10-15min, car reset itself. This was about a year ago, has not happened again. I now do let the car start up properly before puting in gear, and not so quick between switching forward and reverse.

My rear wiper pipe disconnected and within the next day I couldn't turn my car off.

Whilst waiting for the AA repair (MG couldn't fit me in for 4 days, and as under warranty didn't want to mess with anything myself) I read this forum and explained what you all had experienced. In my case the car wouldn't turn off for over 24 hours , disconnecting the 12v battery did nothing.

The AA repair man exposed the connection block in the driver's foot well, gave it a good clean and dried it out , then reconnected everything. Car working as expected again now (with the exception that the rear hose needs to be reconnected by MG).

Hopefully by ensuring this thread stays alive it'll help someone else in the future. As the repair guy said "I'd have never have worked this out without this information"

The AA man had no idea about the water leak on the electrics when he came out to my van. I got home from having the pipe refitted by my MG dealer and I couldn't turn off the car. They want £171 for a new battery.
