MGS5 availability (merged, formerly ES5))

This news from Which Car Australia.
The ZS EV is being replaced by the ES5 starting in Australia in early 2025.
It shares the MG4 platform.

That would be because it's Rear Wheel Drive; the motor, motor controller, on-board charger etc. all have to take up space under the boot. That should free up room in the froot (frunk), but it's not as convenient there, unless they make the bonnet a proper door. It's one of the tradeoffs of RWD.

OMG! Do I see two smallish lights in the B pillars? Could those almost be described as back row illumination? I think I feel faint! 😲 MG might have listened 👂 to us and/or to customers in general. A bit. Or maybe it's just coincidence that they brought out something that we've been screaming for.

Not there, that's just the side airbag badge. They're in the rear handles, as shown below. ;)

I know. We need a bigger car next time around, but I am loathed to go for another generic SUV. Have had several before and they just worked but never felt special.

Hopefully it will have MG magic somewhere, like amazing handling.
 
They also slashed the prices on current gen MG ZS EV here in Denmark, price down almost £10.000

Decided to buy one as we needed something better for the wife due to her having to do 60 mile round trip for work and a Corsa 1.0 is not suited for the motorway. (And in summer we sell nearly 4000 kWh to the grid for almost no money gained, so just as well get another EV to put some of it into, making it almost cost free in terms of "fuel" in the summertime)

Asked the seller if they were clearing stock and he said that officially this was not the reason and they had not been given any reason, but if I promised to not quote him, it was probably the reason.

Anywho, there being a new model out soon, does not make the MG ZS EV any better or worse, so we decided to go for it.

Expecting a Q1 release in Denmark.
