MGS5 safety software fault - recall level problem? (reverse after hard stop; merged)

OPD must be the best thing since electrons were discovered for the amount of drivers who rave about it despite running the chance that the car rolls backwards or it's not available on a full charge.
Isn't the solution to the rolling back problem is to apply the handbrake when the car has stopped.
Has anyone been brave enough to see what happens on an icy or snowy surface? 🫣

Must admit I dislike OPD and wouldn't use it if I had it but in terms of safety arguments it seems to be fairly balanced:

For: OPD dramatically reduces the chances of "hit-the-wrong-pedal" accidents, which are predominantly low speed but can occur at any speed. OPD drivers can modulate their speed more smoothly and quickly than two pedal drivers.

Against: Over time OPD drivers lose the instinct to use the brake pedal in an emergency and in any case take longer to move their foot across from the accelerator in such an emergency. OPD isn't available at high SOC and this can surprise drivers. OPD can in some situations cause the car to roll backwards.

Some countries (including China) are banning it.

I certainly prefer OPD, but at 100% charge, I don't find any big hassle, if I couldn't use it I wouldn't cry.
Level 3 works just as well until stopping completely.

I find I react faster when I need to slow down. Braking starts the moment you lift your foot, even if it isn't as hard as pressing the brake.

In ICY or snowy weather I dont use OPD and in fact have KERS ( regen ) at the lowest setting.

What does that mean?

Chinese made cars may not have it as an option?
Cars used on Chinese roads mustn't have it as an option?
Drivers on Chinese roads are not permitted to switch it on?

"Starting in 2027, China’s updated national standards for electric vehicle brake systems will require that cars cannot come to a complete stop using only one-pedal drive as the factory default."

Not really a ban, it just can't be on by default from the factory.

OPD = Old Pensioner Driving?
I don't like it because we have an ICE car as well. I believe there is or is not some muscle memory and therefore keep my routine the same. By the way, I tried it and might just be a late developer?

OPD must be manually selected every journey under the new Chinese rules. It is banned from being on by default.

The article is a bit unclear, it says "factory default" in some parts and "default" in others. I hope we keep the option to have it on all the time by default, that's one of the best things about this car. It disengaging in almost every other EV is really annoying.
