Mind blown - my ZS EV insurance is cheaper than my 8 year old Kia Rio

Called Hastings Direct to transfer insurance from my existing car (2012 Kia Rio 1.4D, 57 year old with 10 years NCD, cost £170 in August) to my brand new ZS EV and my premium dropped by £10!!!!!

New insurance is up to August 2021 and I'm dumbfounded at the price - I expected it to be £200+

That's cheap mine is £320 which is still cheaper than my 66 plate hyundai i40

There are few advantages to getting old. Cheaper car insurance is one of them.
Insurance companies take the car's safety features into account, I think. And hope.
Presumably the ZS EV has better features than our Rio?
