Ncap fail for mg3 hybrid

What would you rather have a faulty airbag or a seat mechanism that is the question snapped femur or a sore head ?

MG are not alone in being criticised in their approach to this issue.

Citroën are also being criticised for their poor performance regarding their recall process relating to airbags.

Drivers have been left with potentially unsafe vehicles, complaining of poor communication, cancelled appointments and an unclear compensation process.
Citroen didn't fail the NCAP test MG did ?

Listening to the Aussie geezer, if that femur breaks in more than one place, that's an issue.

Lack of an airbag could be an issue too.

Citroen didn't fail the NCAP test MG did ?
According to the Which? article I have just read, the airbags "can explode when deployed, firing deadly shrapnel into the cabin area".

Whether that is an NCAP fail or not, I think there is the potential for serious injury in the event of an accident.

Yes other makes can have issues but this is an MG issue on an MG forum that is being discussed and MGs already questionable aftersales service is being highlighted, Citroen being crap at recalls doesnt really make MG 3 owners feel any less concerned about there cars

To be honest, unless something pops up in the news, the majority of the general public will be completely unaware of this.
I take it you don't read newspapers it's been in most of them ? And the longer this recall drags on it will end up on the TV also me thinks.?

I was just a few days away from ordering my new MG3, but I’ve put it on hold while I wait for an official reply from MG. The dealers don’t seem to know anything, and I don’t want to buy a new car without clarity on whether the cars from August are fixed and what the schedule is for the airbag. This whole thing is a mess.

Yes I would hold off, your dealership should be able to tell you if the new vehicle has had the modifications done at the factory? Also nothing to do with MG but Peugeot has just announced another Recall yesterday. How hard is it for MG to announce a Recall because Peugeot seems to not have a problem doing it ?

Just been to my dealership MG still haven't contacted them. But they are hoping to receive an update shortly, the service manager seems to think that all pre August cars will be sent for by the dealership in what he described as a rolling recall, where cars will be rectified when in for a service etc, he said things are happening behind the scenes in China and they see this fault as an embarrassment, (obviously i can only go on what he told me,) I asked him about trading the car in for a ZS but he told me not to bale out yet because he believes things will happening shortly, (so I will wait and see if something happens)

Can only hope that the service manager is correct?
Hope so, he said the dealership wouldn't have any problem taking my car in part exchange before the fault with the seat brackets was rectified, and after i spoke with the sales manager he didn't seem to think the fault would reduce the part exchange value of my car so maybe MG have got a plan of action for pre August cars
