New MG ZS EV Australia - towbar problem

Ok I’m thinking your car is wired with 7 pins and the trailer socket might not have pins 8 and 9 wired as per what the MG NZ instructions are:

My screen shows a difficulty with the rear camera, due to there being an obstruction to the view, that's all I've noticed. I haven't noticed beeping problems, or perhaps I'm good at ignoring it!

It’s still 7 pin socket but it has a reed switch ( Google trailer connector with reed switch ). Gives nine connection point

We have a Gen 1 ZS EV. We had the dealer fit a towbar on our car. Only for them to find that even though MG gave sold them the towbar and also said it was appropriate for the model, that it was not.
The dealers fitted the towbar then found that the wiring loom for the towbar had nowhere to plug in.
After researching on the net I found that the Gen 1 ZS EV was not approved for towing in Australia and had no tow rating so could not have a towbar fitted.
So the dealers removed the towbar and sent it back to MG. Fortunately they refunded our money too.

The towbar fitted but there was no facility to plug the wiring in.
The main problem is that the Gen 1 has no tow rating in Australia, so that means it is illegal to have a towbar on the car according to the dealer.
We fixed the problem in the end by giving our trailer to a neighbour. No need to tow it now.
