New MG4 / Activate maps fails / no QR for iSMART binding

Hi

Got my shiny new black pearl Trophy today but forgot to get the binding sorted at the showroom.
Did a factory reset. Activation seems to go ok but activating the maps fails.
When I go to the step to show the QR code for iSMART, no code image
Anyone else seen this?

No qr. Does that not mean you have already paired the car to the app? Do you have other app to car functionality? Factory reset is the car only. The paired data is held on the MG remote server.

What model do you have re sat nav included to understand no maps better?

Pretty sure I haven't - and the app thinks it's still unbound. CarPlay and Bluetooth work. The built-in satnav fails due to an activation issue.
Not sure I understand your last question - it's an MG4 Trophy. I do not particularly want to use the satnav. Just concerned it's not set up correctly, and the user's bit also fails due to lack of activation.

Only the trophy has sat nav inbuilt hence the question just in case you had an se. You can't see any car status on the app full stop then? Normally on set up if the qr doesn't show via the profile settings it has been paired. Just confirming

Hi, Just bought the MG4 Trophy LR and when I wanted to use the Satellite navigation, message comes to Grant Permission in Settings. When I do that, I can’t find any checkbox to confirm. Has anyone done that before?

Quick update on this. Tried to accept privacy notice using info from that thread but accept button still disabled.
Attaching more pics of the problem for info.
Will call dealer next.

i think you need to allow access to you router at home first.
i believe it is on page 109 in the manual.

Tried that just now and still no better. Sat nav seems like its gonna start now but then gives same error after waiting ages on attached screen.
Tried connecting an android and iPhone - which works fine but doesn't help with the binding issue.

Also tried connecting to the car hotspot and that seems ok. I can get onto the internet ok.
Weather also not working - head unit not activated, but probably GPS/sat nav related.

In the iSmart app - I have created an account, and when I try to connect, it goes to camera mode, expecting a QR code.

MG4 Smart App

Picked up the MG4 two days ago. Since that time I cannot bind my phone (android) or my wife's phone (iPhone) to the car via the QR code. Anyone else had this trouble and what did you do? I'm getting a dynamic something or other error.

If nothing else try this

I have read that iSmart issues can be resolved by rebooting the infotainment (by holding down the Home button for 10 seconds),

Thanks Briggie. If you mean the verification text when setting up the smart account, yes-got that.
Thanks for the link, good to see how it should work. Looks like the head unit not activated is blocking it showing the QR code.

Also tried holding down the home button and rebooted it but didn't seem to help. Still gives the same errors.

Did see a new error - device id not found, when trying to login using email/password.

I see I have the R30 software. The one that I see others complaining about.

You got the text activation to work for the iSMART app?

I can never get a text code sent to me, and had to register an account with the app using email.

Yes, when it works. I get the head unit not activated error on the user tile and QR code

This is from the zs ev forum...straw clutching

On the settings screen have you scrolled down on right hand side where it says bind car took me a day or two to find it after finally getting verification code

Having trouble pairing MG zs ev trophy connect with the iSmart app! The car doesn't even display a qr code to scan and the when trying to login manually I get a message saying the vehicle is not activated. Anyone having the same problem and know how to fix it?

Thanks for that. That seems to be where it is in the SE model. From the demo videos it's only on the user tile on the Trophy, or on configure screen after factory reset.
