New MG4 coming soon: what are your questions?

Last call on this, we are recording tonight for release later this week....
It's already been said elsewhere , but why the hell give 2 different models the same name (MG4), I know one is the Urban and the other one isn't, but I think it's just confusing.

Thanks for all the questions, I asked as many as I could on our new podcast, just released:

How is the new one different it looks the same?
Well you could watch the podcast....

New interior is the biggest change, much higher quality, choice of colours, together with latest bigger screens and infotainment tech, wireless AA/CP, new green colour, better aero, longer range and more....

That plus the brand new Urban model which replaces the SR and has tons of space for a low price.

All the details are in the podcast.

With the split LFP/NMC battery technologies across the new MG4 LR Premium and ER Premium, that old debate of the SE SR and SE/Trophy LR will come to the surface again. They'll both have the same effective range when the LR with LFP is charged to 100% versus the ER, NMC charged to 80% on a regular basis to preserve battery life.

I think it is pretty simple - either you have occasions where you need the extra range or you don't.

For me the attraction of the ER would be the higher performance without the X-Power 4WD setup. (Nothing against the X-Power but it is more power than I ever need, so I'd rather have less and less risk of a speeding ticket).

@tsedge, I agree, as a Trophy owner I appreciate the extra range over the present SR, but there were those who said the extra expense wasn't worth it until they considered all the extra kit that the Trophy spec has over the SE. The new ER looks tempting with its longer range over the old ER, a bit more power and the refreshed interior.

Now that it is confirmed that the most basic version of the new MG4 has LFP battery and good tech inside that pushes it to the favourite for me if I had to replace our current one.

Not bothered by crazy power or anything like that.

That definitively settles that hypothetical question "What new MG4 would BamBam get?" that absolutely none of you were wondering about!

Actually it gets better, looking at the brochure the LFP pack charges very slightly quicker than the NMC packs.

154kw max vs 144kw max.

Saves one minute on the 10-80% time so not a huge difference, but still, better than the old SR which has a much slower DC charging rate than the NMC models.
