New MG4 EV Urban - Now on MG website.

I don't have enough knowledge about if a heat pump is really worth it in a UK EV, but I think I would take it with a pinch of salt if a company that has decided they aren't going to fit them tells me they aren't needed.
There are various tests online and if you look on the forum there are posts from members from Scandinavia talking about heat pumps, basically on short stop start journeys the make little to no difference.
They come into their own on longer distance journeys, they are very efficient, similar in efficiency to heat pumps for the home.
Compared to normal heaters they are about 300% more efficient.
The average efficiency improvement is around 10-15% more range,
Below -5°c they start to be less efficient in a car but still more efficient than a normal heater.
There have been several side by side tests with the same car with and without a heat pump.
ID7 with got 268 miles, without 254 miles (not that big a difference)
Meagne winter 195 miles without
With heat pump 216 miles.

The unfortunate thing is a lot of manufacturers, in the UK market, only supply them as an extra, normally about £1000
People will probably say it's not worth it.
Some manufacturers include them as standard on all there models though.
All new Renault, BYD, Tesla and IM cars have them.
No surprise that all cars in Scandinavia pretty much have them

Are you referring to this one @tsedge (from 25mins). (y)
With You Tube you can get a link that starts at the second you want. If you right click on the window it gives you the option for a url "at the current time" or something like that.

Handy for pointing people towards particular points in long videos.
