The steering wheel is still tugging me over despite having switched off the lane keep assist button on my new MG4 Premium. Very upset about this feature which in my opinionI is dangerous..

When using the Manual Speed Limiting, (a feature I always loved on my old Trophy) the car seems to be braking on the downhill runs, creating a horrible lurching effect similar to if someone is taking their foot off and putting it back on the brake whilst driving. The Trophy never did this. It could be because of other settings I haven't switched on/off. If anyone can help I'd be grateful as this feature was the main reason why I bought MG again rather than another brand.

Bongs are back: if the car detects a speed limit sign in a side road that is lower than the speed you're going, it will assume that speed limit applies to your road and will bong at you. It also bongs when you drive into a higher speed limit zone until it realises you are able to drive faster. Not as good as the old system on the Trophy. Change it back please MG!!! "If it aint broke, don't fix it" might be a good adage here.

Beginning to wish I'd kept my old Trophy

The 2026 model has an "MG Pilot Custom" setting that you can save and call up by swiping down on the infotainment screen when parked.
This includes buttons for which bongs you want to go away.

Thanks, I'm aware of the custom button but can't get rid of bongs so far.

Biggest safety concern is the steering wheel taking hold and pulling the car to the left despite the lane keep assist being switched to off and acknowledged by a sign on the screen.

Most significant to driving experience is the unpleasant lurching when using the generally useful manual speed limit. This feature now also reads road speed signs and bongs at you, but since it's a manual setting, this is unnecessary. It was better in the Trophy (2022 model)

In the month I having our car, I cannot say that either my wife or I have experienced this issue with LKA.

As for the bongs, they do drive me mad and I am able to stop them. My issue is with Custom Pilot and the favourite button which is what I believe I should be able to use to stop the bongs, rather than having to go into the infotainment system.

Can these settings be saved? I keep having to turn off the over the speed limit warning bong at the start of each journey

Yes I saw the word SAVE. However, they don't appear to SAVE permanently as I explained in my reply.
They don't just stick on their own.
When starting the car:-
  1. Swipe down on infotainment to expose quick settings menu.
  2. Tap "MG Pilot Custom".
  3. Tap "Confirm".
  4. Swipe up to dismiss the menu.
