Well, having undergone a bit of a nightmare saga with the ZS EV ...

... the dealer offered me decent discount to trade up to the S5 rather than go through with the rejection. They had to do something (serious safety issue) but in fairness they stepped up.

I'm loving the S5. So much better than the ZS EV, which I liked when it worked. S5 feels like a grown up version.

The only thing I don't like so far are the almost constant bing bongs accompanied by "Please focus on driving" messages. I wouldn't mind but my eyes never left the road. The dealer was almost embarrassed about it, but said that stuff is mandatory now on new cars ?

Anyway, manual downloaded and reading it through to figure best way to turn it off. I gather the "MG Pilot Custom" button is the way to go.

I believe you can turn the bongs off somewhere in the menus, but you have to do it every trip (or slave it to the extra button?)

The MG Pilot Custom button remembers this setting and many more. Very useful.

It doesn't remember regen mode unfortunately, which defaults to low. The two custom buttons on the steering wheel are very useful, I've keyed them to Regen Mode and Drive Mode.

After a few days I remain impressed with the MGS5.
