Noticing. (Public chargers being ICEd up)

Wonder what would happen if EV owners started leaving their cars a petrol/diesel pumps while they went off to do some shopping? Once that question is answered the same rule should apply for ICE vehicles in EV charging bays
I have seen that. A Tesla stopping by the pump and just visiting the kiosk. Sometimes there is not much in the way of off-pump parking available or it is awkward to park in on a cramped forecourt.

It happens a lot here, especially Lidl . The shortest (cheapest ) run for the supply cables from the main building to the pillars means the prime places to park are taken up by two EV spots near to the doors. The adjacent disabled and mother and baby spots are generally respected and left to their respective users , but the EV spots are open to abuse, mainly by crappy beat up old cars or newish German cars of certain marques.

I wonder what would happen if you just parked behind them, plugged in and went off for a couple of hours.

Oh, the thought has occurred, I assure you. Assuming the lead would reach. (More likely I'd drive over the grass behind the chargers, park there, and plug in.)
