Noticing. (Public chargers being ICEd up)

Wonder what would happen if EV owners started leaving their cars a petrol/diesel pumps while they went off to do some shopping? Once that question is answered the same rule should apply for ICE vehicles in EV charging bays
I have seen that. A Tesla stopping by the pump and just visiting the kiosk. Sometimes there is not much in the way of off-pump parking available or it is awkward to park in on a cramped forecourt.

It happens a lot here, especially Lidl . The shortest (cheapest ) run for the supply cables from the main building to the pillars means the prime places to park are taken up by two EV spots near to the doors. The adjacent disabled and mother and baby spots are generally respected and left to their respective users , but the EV spots are open to abuse, mainly by crappy beat up old cars or newish German cars of certain marques.

I wonder what would happen if you just parked behind them, plugged in and went off for a couple of hours.

Oh, the thought has occurred, I assure you. Assuming the lead would reach. (More likely I'd drive over the grass behind the chargers, park there, and plug in.)

I know that! You've heard of poetic licence? Next you'll be telling me what a juggernaut is...
Some others might not, I have, I wouldn't dare.

I did apologise in advance for pedantry but you seem offended, so I apologise again, I will try not to be pedantic again about your posts.

I put that one to a couple of drivers parked on AC chargers I wanted to use. One said that he paid his council tax so he was entitled to park there. The other said, if I didn't park there somebody else would. Neither was at all repentant.

You obviously dropped on a couple of arseholes there, Rolfe. The world owes them a living, I'll do what I want, types.
🙄

People do the same with disabled spots.

It's my pet hate. I abhor it.

I've started challenging people. With the passive aggressive "Hey mate, you forgot to put your badge out."

Some replies:

I'll be 5 mins.
It's for my Gran.
You can see my wife has a gammy leg.
It's in the glove box.

None of them had a blue badge.
All of them got aggressive and abusive. Even one in a sign written vehicle. His boss was not pleased.
One of them wondered in a big loud voice in the supermarket why I had nothing better to do in my sad pathetic life than ask him where his blue badge was.

To which my louder reply was that there was nothing more sad or pathetic that a fit able bodied person cheating a disabled person out of parking space because they were being lazy and selfish and that he should be ashamed of himself.

I stopped myself from stating a fact I read which said that people who park in disabled parking bays that shouldn't are very often involved in some level of criminality.

I know, one day, someone will lamp me one....

Sorry, if I gave the impression that I was offended, this was entirely inadvertent. Peace?
Of course, I am an online pacifist, but still a pedant. :)

The question was to @Gomev given that the prior post named some of the (many) unscrupulous private parking firms that are around, and the Parking board at MSE Forums fights the good fight against them. :)
I think you may have meant @Gadget Geek

A juggernaut is an empty milk receptacle isn’t it ?
You DO NOT want to know what the urban dictionary definition of juggernaut is !!!

It used to seem wasteful to me how many spaces were both reserved for disabled people and empty most of the time.

Then it seemed to change a few years back and now the disabled spaces are mostly full.

Either there are a lot more people with a disability or the respect for the spaces has gone, or both.

I do now 🤩
