I'm parked in a hotel underground car park. Opened the tailgate and just in time grabbed the tailgate and stopped it hitting the roof beam. Crikey. Anyone know how I should open it in low roof situations please ?

With a pillow glued to the number plate 🤩
(A transparent DVLA approved pillow obvs)

Apparently there is a anti pinch system and you can adjust the setting height of the tailgate as well. Might have a mess with that when I return home. Enjoyed the humorous replies. Thanks guys and gals

I presume you have the electric version? In which case the tailgate doesn't appear to have any obstruction detection other than an overload electrical cut out (unlike the Cyberster scissor doors), so everyone is right, it's going to be have to be done carefully. There is the option to open to a height of your choice which is memorised. Details in the manual on page 116. I've included that section below.

Thanks mate. Its one of those things that had it been an old car I wouldn't have mentioned it but being new I'm trying to avoid marks. No doubt it will pick up a fair number though at the supermarket.

@salty, when I park like that. I'll come back and find a car parked either side of me, the rest of the car park still empty!!
Yep that definitely happens. I once went to a nearbyish 24 hour supermarket at 3am (don't ask!) and parked in a totally deserted car park. Came out to find another car parked right next to me.
I am also currently having to spend a little time early in the morning (6:45-8am) in another supermarket car park while I wait for the missus who is elsewhere. It's easier than going home then coming back in rush hour traffic. I constantly see cars come and park in the next bay to cars that were clearly deliberately parked clear of everyone else and not near the entrance.
