Hi all,

I use Home Assistant for Home Automation, and I have lots of things integrated including my Ohme Home Pro charger, Octopus Energy and Google Sheets.

I have created an couple of automations that trigger on an hourly and daily basis to calculate the amount of Energy put into the car (through integration with Ohme), the cost of that energy (through the Octopus integration) and then write it to a google spreadsheet.

I have 3 worksheets, one is for the Hourly energy/costs (so I can see how much energy/cost per hour (not sure if I actually need this!), one for the Daily Energy/Costs and then one for the Petrol fills (that I fill in manually everytime I fill up). The final spreadsheet tries to work out the "Effective MPG" and also a rough estimation of the pence per mile for petrol and electric. Not perfect as we can't know how many miles were electric vs petrol - but the overall figure for the combined would be pretty accurate.

I've attached a few screenshots.

All for fun.

Wow, kudos to you. This is such impressive stuff! When I first got my PHEV I had lofty aims of doing some analysis over time in a spreadsheet, but not as thorough as this, and I soon lost some petrol receipts ..

So well done for this!

I've got into the habit of taking photo's of the petrol pump and my ODO for that very same reason!

I've also redone the spreadsheet with all my records for the '72 plate MG HS I replaced so I can compare across the two cars.

Hello,

One of the options offered by Ohme Home Pro is communication between Ohme servers and the MG (I assume iSmart).

Has anyone tried this link?

Does it transfer the HV battery charge status to the Ohme Home server?

Ohme home pro is unable to get the state of charge from MG as far as I know. It always assumes the car is empty until the car tells
It to stop charging.

However with home assistant there is also integration with iSMART through the SAIC integration which can get the state of charge amongst other- along with a whole host of other values. You can even unlock the car, turn on the a/c or heated seats etc.

Hi

I am attempting to set something up like this. I have noticed though that the Ohme integration in home assistant differs with the amount of charge added to the Ohme app. For example, a charge made on the 1st Sep shows total energy used 34.2 kWh in the app, but on HA is shows 30.7 kWh at the end of the charge. I have only completed 2 charges with the charger and both of these were done before I set up the integration in HA, not sure if this has anything to do with the difference. I will see what happens after the next charge.

Just wondering if you have noticed anything like this or have any thoughts on it.

Cheers!

Ian

Interesting - I hadn’t noticed but I will certainly check now
Just done another quick test charge. App says 1.6, HA says 1.7 kWh. Not a huge difference but still not the same. It is strange.

Just checked - you are right there is a discrepency - not much but it's there. The Ohme app reports 5.88kWh charge today (during the 2 hour free session!) but in Home Assistant, the integration reports 5.79kWh
