It had to happen sooner or later!
We’re in the fortunate position of having a second place in Wales ???????, but we live in West Midlands, we were a bit worried and looking forward to the journey of 144 miles.
On the way down we started with 144 on normal mode and 166 In eco mode, running at 3.5miles/kWh
Stopped off at Kidderminster for breakfast
We tend to go through Builth wells, Llandovery, Carmarthen, basically all A and B roads with allot of hills and tight bends.
Would normally stop off in Builth, but no charge points in Builth so we carried on to Llandovery where they have a rapid ccs in the car park next to the castle.
We arrived with 45% left and after 45mins and 21kwh back up to 90%
The rest of the journey was a little better, not having to worry, so into normal mode and floor it a bit! Surprised quite a few bmw’s!
I didn’t look at what was left due to the realisation of all the work that needs to be done in the garden (after 5 months away!) good job some relatives came down as well! ( Kia e-Niro)
The Niro is surprisingly smaller than the MG.
Spent the next four days clearing all the overgrowth, enough to fill the MG with the seats folded down a 1ton bag full and lots other bags and buckets full! The MG is rather large!!

Anyway for the journey back we thought we would not charge it this time and see how we go.
Same journey although we stoped in Builth this time for a toilet break (also noticed the council are installing 2 fast chargers in the car park next to the river!)
We have made it home with 4.1 miles/kWh and 31 miles left from a 143.8 mile trip all driven on eco and started with the Gom showing 175miles
All told we are well happy with the MG.?

Well done it’s all about planning your trip and thinking ahead and having a break after a few hours of driving; it shouldn’t be stressful.

Well done...isn't it a brilliant feeling to do your first long trip? :)

It all sounds very familia to me, following our trip to Norfolk last week. We will be back again in a few weeks time.
In my absence my family have fitted a 7KW charger (I bought off eBay ( £240) ..before lockdown) ....gives us more options in the the future. It charges Nissan Leaf's as well as MG's !?

Thankyou for your replies Chris and Mark

Yes it’s a very good feeling, certainly made me think about parting ways with my E Class Merc and getting one myself! But that is a subject that’s restricted to funds.

Chris I can’t believe theres a bit of a coincidence with the wall charger!
My Parents were the relatives that came down to help, they have the Niro and they have just changed their wall charger to a Zappi unit, guess what the old one was..... yep a Rolec just like yours and they have given it us to fit in the bungalow so we can have a fast charger there as well.
Just need to get it fitted in the Garage. Yet another job! (As they say ‘first world problems!’)

Heck of a coincidence that! ......I thought you were going to say they sold it on eBay a few months ago!
