I have a 2020 MG ZS EV. Noticed recently that the outside temperature is displaying the wrong temperature. The vehicle thinks it is -16c when the temperature is probably in the mid-teens (positive).
Is there a way to reset the temperature? Or software update? Or is it likely a sensor fault?

Yeah, sensor is probably a simple PTC (Resistor, that changes resistance with temperature)

Don't know where it is located, but it's probably somewhere accessible and then it just needs unplugging and a new one plugged in.

Happened to me a few times over the 20 years i owned different vauxhalls. Those sensors were really inexpensive so i just bought 2 and had the other one sitting on a shelf. Most effetive way of NOT having it go bad, is usually to have a spare. :)

Did MG fix this? They want £500 plus to look at mine. My warranty is not valid as previous owner did not keep up servicing...

£500 for a diagnostic is a bit steep, my garage wanted an hours labour to do a job which was £120 but when I picked up the car the charge was waived and the work was free of charge.

I would definitely shop around because there is a range of prices that dealerships charge.

If your warranty is void then I would ask at an independent garage, they'll be a lot cheaper.

I ended up replacing the sensor myself and it fixed the issue luckily. The sensor is on the LHS just behind the lower front grill.
