Pay per mile. Another blow for EV drivers

Heidi Alexander, the transport secretary, has ruled out a pay-per-mile scheme for the UK. Looks like the anti-ev press have jumped on a rumour and run with it. Mind you its taken the government long enough to either confirm or deny it.

Hopefully that's true. As you say the anti EV press, will jump on the slightest rumour. Parasites! It's actually quite amusing, and very sad.

I think they were also getting a lot of aggro from not just EV owners but the car industry too. Ford boss Lisa Brankin had also waded in warning it wasn't the right time to tax EVs

As predicted a few pages back , most likely an exercise in smoke and mirrors and horticulture, Now the smoke is clearing and you can all breathe a sigh of relief ( possibly ) have a look through what pocket emptying proposals are slipping through under the radar and will be announced soon . The seeds they have planted in the collective conscience will one day ( they hope ) bear fruit.
