"Plastic " duck tail

For the SE and I presume the Trophy what is the material for the black ducktail ( polycarbonate / acrylic / ABS / lexan or other? ) I am leaning towards polycarbonate but am not really sure? It now has some slight surface scratches and swirl marks and the differing materials have different products and techniques to correct the problem . What does anyone else successfully use ?
On a related matter does anyone want half a dozen cats????

The Trophy has a clear acrylic light bar instead of the black ducktail on the SE and LR versions.

On my Trophy I've found MeGuiar's Ultimate Liquid wax works well all over the car including hiding the faint marks on the clear lighting bar and the black side panels. It's not cheap and to avoid white residue get the liquid not the paste.

For the black ducktail on the SE, LR I'd try a black plastic trim restorer

Thanks Ian, I tried looking at all the black plastic trim restorers and the seemed to be aimed at the soft plastic bumper type of material and not the hard gloss " plastic " of the ducktail.
MeGuiars Plastx is coming up as a front runner with a couple of competitors , headlight restorers and one site even says Brasso ? along with some very expensive specialist acrylic restorers , again I need to be pretty certain of the "plastic" composition. I remember a friend who had a very expensive record turntable deck and "plastic " cover/ lid which he cleaned with a what was thought to be a propriety plastic cleaner and it almost instantly crazed and melted the lid . The mental anguish was compounded by the emptying of his wallet. Both of which I am trying to avoid.

I've tried a few polishes, although more for some sort of degradation/discolouration on the top of the spoiler, rather than scratches. They worked initially, but the problem recurred. Not sure if there was originally some sort of UV finish, like on headlights? Probably not - it just seems like a grade of plastic not suited to the task. The vertical surfaces are holding up OK, though.

Anyway, the plastic is soft and doesn't seem particularly thick, so whatever you use, don't push down too hard.

You can try headlight restorer kits, they cater for plastic covered headlights as well as glass.
