Hello everyone, we successfully set our MG ZS EV to charge 24:00-05:00am to utilise the cheap rate electric. Worked fine first few times but last few goes nothing despite following the same proceedure. Anyone know what I might be doing wrong?
Best wishes
Michael

You have not stated what the source of the mains is, i.e the granny supplied with the car, a 7KW intelligent charger etc, but here are a few things you can check:
a) Is the battery limit set to a low figure?
b) Some granny chargers have an inbuilt timer, so you have to reset the charger between charges by turning off the power to it.
c)Is the charger timer interfering with the car timing? For example, if the charger timer is set to start at 23:00 (with the car at 24:00), the charger may give up before 24:00
Just some thoughts

Thanks rpannell, it is our home wall mounted 7kw charger, never actually used the granny charger. Checked on the car display and put battery limit to 100%, it was previously 80%. Clock display on car seems okay.

If your wall box has the facility to set a delayed charge, turn it off.
Now double check that you have turned on scheduled charging slide control in the head unit and the correct of peak times.
It has been known that the wall box times can conflict with the times set in the car.
Oh…. Long shot, if you have disconnected your 12 volt battery for any reason, then your stored settings for delayed timer will have been lost !.

It’s a process of elimination now.
Try using your Granny charger to do a delay charge, if it works correctly, you are looking at the wall box or the type 2 cable if you are using an untethered box.
