Project OBD2 - Mobile App v1.2.1 and later

It's not a new version, same version 1.2.1 that's been there since beginning of March.
I'm hoping to get a new version to try out from him shortly.
The version number may appear the same BUT the author and sharer of the software posted on facebook group updated version only yesterday evening so I'm hoping he will know if it is or not.

Hi. Newbie here!

Had my OBD device delivered today. After a bit of fiddling I managed to get things working and had some readings but quickly it crashed with the attached error messages. Any ideas? Thanks.
The only time I have seen app crash is if phone is turned to landscape orientation. Not seen error messages just crashes.

It could be the OBDII that isnt fully compatible. I have 2 x recently purchased OBDII connectors but neither worked so I bought the recommend one the developer used Nexpeak 101 Pro.

I bought this one off Amazon which was mentioned earlier in the thread. It did give a strange reading for max cell voltage, mind.

Yesterday Wanadit was just telling you on Facebook that the old first version that you were linking too (with a dead link as many other users pointed out) had a newer version to it.

That newer app is exactly the same as the one I distributed out in early March. Wanadit (Captain DIY) is just sharing it he's not the author. Nevertheless we still grateful for the app and the sharing.

Edit
It's likely the author has links to MG or Thai dealer workshops to be able to get an app that can authenticate a handshake to send a command to switch off DRLs and hence remains anonymous. Even OVMS team are trying to reverse engineer that from this android app.

I have another ordered another up-to-date receiver with PIC18F25K80 chipset.. should get in a day or two
I think this chipset works the best, as I pointed out on the very first page 9f this thread, when we were trying to get this working... other chipsets might be causing the crashes. .. (don't know for certain, could be android devices too)

Definitely a reading error there in you max cell voltage of 60.986.... if only out battery cell did have that that much capacity.

Ran battery right down until it shutdown Was 5.0% on the App and 375 total volts. My max is 97.0% at 456-7Volts. Will take screenshot when charged fully. Usable 92%.

I doubt MG have reduced lower buffer from 5% to 2%

... I think someone (Jody) had 3% & 94% (93.8%) giving usable 91%. So I suspect 1% is to hide the first year degradation.

Instavolt charger recorded it at 1% (it stays at 10% for a bit until it starts to charge then drops to 1%). i put 10% rapid charge in (was running at 49KW on a 50kW pump) then took to AC charger.
Was 1% when looked on dash after that.

I've just tried to copy this into the other post to keep it all together (y)

the first data that I posted is my friend's car, received on 01/20/2020. Made update Comfort 2 in July 2020 and February 2021 annual.
second data my car, received 06/10/2020, Comfort 2 update in July, BMS update, etc. in September. Full charge 257V, equalization started at 3 o'clock, and now 3 hours 45 minutes

Looks like they've got the "long equalisation" BMS that myself and a few others have :)

On the June/July BMS and it feels like it's close to 8 or 9 hours hours, often I just stop it short as need to go out.
That's with 13mV inbalance.

I do it about once a month. Three times since I had the car 2 months ago.
Will doing it more often make it considerably less?

I'm not sure mate, I try and equalise every time I charge if I have the time (as I don't want to make anything worse potentially) I think (I've heard) that the car stops after 10 hours anyway? And I don't think that mine ever finishes.
For example this Saturday I plugged the car in at 10 AM and it "finished" at 6:45 PM(I generally tend to say it's finished once the smart meter goes green and usually that's a good indicator as the MG badge is also out)
So it's still taking a massive time to charge/equalise :(
