LOL... only on paper; most of the UK grid still runs around 240V. They just increased the tolerances. Our old specification of 240V +/- 6% (so 226V to 254V) was changed in 1995 for EU harmonisation to be nominally 230V +10% / -6% (so 216V to 253V).
In practice no changes were made to the grid infrastructure.
