With Instavolt and Be.EV reducing prices to 65p/kWh and also doing off-peak rates is this the start of a trend ? It would be nice to think so. Will others follow suit ?

Instavolt 65p/kWh (and 54p off-peak 8pm-7am via app or Instavolt RFID only)

Be.EV 65p/kWh (and off-peak 55p 9pm-7am via app or Be.ev RFID only)

Isn't it just the new Instavolt Winchester superhub that's 65p? The others I've looked at on the app remain 87p. Still, welcome if you are in Winchester.

Till it hits petrol costs per mile it is still not an incentive as a private owner , unless like me you charge at home 90% of the time.

Yes you are correct. Sorry for the mis-lead there. Maybe not as hopeful as first thought :(

I'm planning a trip to Edingburgh for 3 days, then to the lake district for 2 more, before returning home in the midlands.
I've planned a route using Ionity so i can buy a month of the subscription to enjoy 41ppkwh.

Guy's at work asked how much it will cost me in charging and when i said circa 10-11ppm it went quiet:ROFLMAO:

I'm off to Stornoway at the end of May. I'm currently planning stops at Perth Tesla and Inverness Tesla, although I might skip Perth and charge somewhere further up as it is 114 miles between the 2 Tesla sites. (Should be OK though if the weather is OK and I charge to 90%+ at Perth, and maybe stick to 65 mph rather than 70). After Inverness then I'll be fine to get to Contin (Achilty Guest House) for an overnighter before driving to Ullapool for the ferry to Lewis.

On Lewis itself there are chargers at the harbour in Stornoway, plus I can probably do a granny charge at the accommodation. :)

Sainsburys chargers also down, 72p/kW instead of 75p/kW. Not much, but it's a start. Wish I'd known about the drop in price for Instavolt as there were several close to the Sainsburys I used while visiting family.

That's how the e-mail reads to me... as a come hither for the Winchester Superhub... get it's name in lights as anyone heading that way normally has a strategy for getting the length of the A34.

There was a discount while charging at Gridserve when they launched their app, but nothing since... the more choice we have, mind you, the more likely there'll be other promotions happening.

I think there is still a discount with Gridserve when using the app.
Price contactless 85p/kWh but 79p using the app.
