Hi all,

I'm expecting a response from the dealer soon (having raised it for a 4th time in 12 months) but I'm hoping someone else finds this problem familiar.
In my 23 ZS Trophy LR I've almost never had the radio (DAB, FM, AM) working. Resetting the infotainment system using the home button or disconnecting the 12V battery doesn't appear to have any effect likewise with resetting the connections to the DAB unit. Cycling any number of audio options also fails to do anything. The only slight way to increase the odds of the radio working appears to be if a Bluetooth device drops out of range which seems very odd to me, there are no other patterns to influence if it works or not!

To give some perspective, the radio will go multiple weeks without working at all, then maybe once in a month it will suddenly be working when I use the car, often but not exclusively when a phone drops out of range. The radio will again not work on the next journey. Factory resetting the infotainment and removing any paired devices has no effect either. AA and Carplay work without a problem so it's not as though audio doesn't work, likewise for the radio when it has worked

The dealer is expecting to need to remove the head unit and send it to MG though I wondered if anyone else had a similar issue and how it was resolved in case I can prompt them for a quicker solution?

Documenting my findings in hope that this is eventually resolved. I have found the following in the Headunit Logs, sadly they don't go back far enough to the last time the radio worked but when it does I should be able to compare the output.

Hi. Bought a zsev trophy connect long range 6weeks ago noticed after a few days radio was only working on 1channel, took it back to mg they done a software update, and it needed to come back for more software updates, booked in for another couple of weeks done the updates the radio worked fine after both visits, then last week when I went out of local area and tried to change station there’s nothing coming on now I got no DAB FM or AM took it back to mg again booked in to have new infotainment system (I think ) this will be at the end of august so need to wait and see. Mentioned about changing car to the new s5ev but the value of my zsev had gone down by £7k in 6 weeks so that won’t be happening 😭

I've had this happen on a long trip. Try disconnecting the 12V battery to reset the head unit.

Or do an infotainment reset using the reset button in software settings.
Tried that the first time but didn’t work ,will try again later. Thanks

Just hold the home button below the radio, for 5-10 seconds till it does a reboot.
Tried that nothing. Thanks

Ok, so I'm thinking you need to have a software reflash. I believe you have a software corruption in the main telematics system. Only your dealer can do that. I suspect you are running the R25 telematics software but your dealer will automatically update you to the R27 software. This fixes most things & also allows your car to see other software updates for all of your 6 computer modules. It takes about 3.5 hours & should be free under warranty. Speak to your dealer. I'm quite sure your issue will be fixed by doing this. Mine were.

I think the main software version for the infotainment unit can be seen in the settings. I’m not certain yet but I suspect there is further software modules within the infotainment unit for the radio and it is one of these for the radio that is at fault.

All of these modules can be seen on the engineering menu however there is nothing reported for DAB.
