X Power figures ONLY and 200 miles as a minimum mileage PLEASE.

G'day.

I have been away for the last week and I wanted to post up my real world figures.

Driving the car as I normally would with AC on, plenty of beanage and heated items ON as required.

I.E. Not trying to be particularly efficient.

I've thought about going into detail with time started, mileage covered, electrons added etc etc but I find that all a bit convoluted.

So just the headline figures.

Covered 597.8 miles @ 2.7 mi/kWh.

A roads, B roads, and the Motorways between West Wales and the Devon and Cornwall Border.

Could I have done better?

Definitely.

The first 300 miles I was seeing 3.5 mi/kWh.

The long motorway trip and my 'want' to get home late last night was my undoing.

Considering the BHP on offer, I am happy with the result, and have said before, I never bought this car with efficiency high on the list of requirements.

It would be nice to have that as well but I knew what I was getting into at the start.

Tesla Superchargers at Lifton and Celtic Manor Newport were easy and excellent.

MFG group chargers at St Clears and a solitary gridserve charger at Bridgewater Services for a splash and dash, both fine.

BP Pulse and Genie Point in Bideford both broken.

BP happily took my £45 and then didn't give me any power! (Refunded Later)

There was also a company called Project EV at a car park in Bude where I was going to top off while I had lunch.

Downloaded app, filled in details, added card, plugged in, then saw that they were going to charge £1.30 kWh.

Unplugged, deleted app, went for lunch.

TEEVS! (To be read Thieves)

So in summary, If I was marking my own homework......

## Must Try Harder, Could Do Better ##

But not if you want any fun in your X Power.

And that's one of the main reasons I bought it.👍

P.S.
The 32 mph average just strikes me as odd.
Pretty sure I was going faster than that for the majority of the time away.

Anyone understand that? Or is it simply the mathematical figures based on time and distance?
Thanks in advance 👍

Didn't understand a word of it. (Nice pics) Did you have fun driving it and exploiting the performance? (daft question) 😉 🙂👍

Good write up thanks for the info. I have a week in Dorset coming up next month, travelling from N Wales to near Sturminster Newton. So will be interesting to see how everything goes, weather will hopefully be a bit warmer to aid efficiency.

In summary your card Mint, it was comfy & went like a stabbed rat & you got home safe. Oh & you enjoyed “tooling it” down some nice A/B roads 😎.
Did it handle well? (Or did your Mrs yank your chain like mine does?). Sounds like an enjoyable trip & I agree with you that “if” you wanted economy you would have bought something miserable/basic & specced like a porta loo 🤣😂🤣

👍🤣

I'm a very lucky boy!

My wife is also a fan of Performance Cars and driving fun, which definitely is a MASSIVE plus!

The planets aligned in 1995, when in the 'Getting to know you phase' our mutual interest in F1, Performance Cars and driving, gave us lots to talk about.

We've done 1000s of laps together in our various vehicles at many tracks both here and abroad and she continues to be a fan of anything 'Fast Road'

It was her decision to buy the X Power!

No, really!

I went in for an LR in Red!

I'd sort off wrote myself off a bit and thought I was "Too Old" for all that performance malarkey" and should grow old gracefully! 🤣

Thank goodness I did as I was told.

AGAIN!🤣

It's always been 'Our Thing' and something we continue to share, love and enjoy as the years go on.

Just celebrated 25 years of wedded bliss🥂

Honestly, I don't know where the time has gone. 👍

Oh and you know my thoughts on the X Power m8, if you seen any of my back catalogue of posts.

The X Power package in my eyes is unbeatable.

It just does everything so very well.

Happy Anniversary Both of you 🍻.
Were coming up on 20 years wed. When we met I had a new M3 & a new RS focus for taking my bulldog out. My main passion was motorcycles & I done a few track laps on those. Never in a car though 🤔. Anyway my Wife had a few bad bumps & a few talentless boyfriends so was a nervous passenger. Ofcourse 20 years sat next to me she is fine “until my little horns pop out” . Weird really she appreciates a nice motor until it growls 😂🤣. Love the escort cozzie 😎. Never driven one. Had this RS2000 in my youth & still miss it 💖

Thanks M8 👍

Congrats back at ya!

20 years is a decent milestone!!

Loved my M3 back in the day! (2003)

Such a sexy soundtrack from that glorious straight 6 🥰

Funny thing that, about the EV, not having a raucous exhaust note!

Although unusually, I had my hearing aids in today and really noticed the motors electric whine.

Sounds so futuristic and is most excellent!

WOW, Check out those arches and the slot mags!

I tried to Sell a body part for an RS2000 back in the day M8, but nobody was in the market for a Left Teste.🤣

I reckon your right m8.
I saw 15 degrees this week down south, but 4 degrees on my drive home last night.
That would have definitely knocked my figures. (And the heavy right foot didn't help)

Looking forward to seeing how you get on.

I've also just realised that my gripper tyres would have had a slight impact?

I definitely think 4 mi/kWh is on the cards if restraint can be achieved with the throttle pedal.

Thanks M8 👍

Here it is parked on a girlfriend’s drive in Heysham.
I sold it for £500 😱 when I was 21 & off to live in Gran Canaria. Hindsight eh! Both my “berrys” wouldn’t raise enough for the rims these days. I loved that car & a Manta GTE once went through a chippy trying to catch it 😇

Forgot to reset accumulated total, so all I can add was 1st bit...

223.4 miles covered
54 mph average
3.1 mls/kWh

M23, M25, M40 & M6

Took details just after some dozy driver rear-ended me at a set of lights by M6 Jct 15 as I was heading for Tesla Trentham Gardens. No injuries and only a cracked fog light lens and some scratches but bloody annoying as now have to deal with all the insurance info as it's a salary sacrifice car.

Happy 25th Anniversary to you both 😊👌

I'm a few years ahead of you 😜

My mls/kWh are, after 3750 miles( Sept 2023 - March 2024) :

Normal driving everything on : 2.7-2.8 mls/kWh
Economy Driving : 3.0-3.2 mls/kWh

Should improve in the warmer months ahead I'm sure 👍

Plenty of Tossers out and about m8.
It's just the 'agg' of dealing with it though eh?
And all because of some inattentive twonk.

Happy 25th Anniversary to you both 😊👌

Looks perfectly normal to me m8.

We all know we 'could' do better.

But tootling about in a 435BHP weapon is very much like wearing a Cilice.

A religious experience I'm sure, but will eventually become very painful. 🤣

My summary stats. Car was delivered in December so all based on lower ambient temperatures. Went out for a sport mode blast yesterday and achieved 2.7 miles/kWh at around 10 deg C

comparing the 10p per mile cost of fuel, the equivalent ICE car would have to be returning 75mpg with fuel at £1.60/litre or 50mpg with fuel at £1.20/litre. Not sure how many sub 4s to 60mph ICE cars can do that

25 years married? Pah! Lightweight! We're coming up 35 years in about 6 weeks

;)

Happy anniversary! :)

You Hero!

Why don't we get medals for such service? 🤣

I've got a medal for being a moving target and wearing a fetching shade of green.

Easy compared to decades in the marriage department! 🤣
