kwh
The kilowatt-hour (SI symbol: kW⋅h or kW h; commonly written as kWh) is a unit of energy equal to 3600 kilojoules (3.6 megajoules). The kilowatt-hour is commonly used as a billing unit for energy delivered to consumers by electric utilities.
I came across this term for a unit of electricity, I'd never heard of it before.
The BOT, Board Of Trade unit is the same as 1kWh, which in 1903 would have cost you around 6 1/2 old p, equivalent to 2 1/2 p in decimal money.
We are talking the infancy of electricity, and the Bournemouth and...
I was surprised to see how much my Trophy likes hot weather. I’ve been up and down motorways a lot recently. I stick to 65-70 with A/C on and am getting 4.2 miles to the kWh. Turning the A/C off does not make any noticeable difference. I even have a slight feeling that using the A/C helps a...
I've had my MG4 Trophy long range now for around 3 months and while I'm delighted with it I have to say the miles per kWh I'm getting is disappointing.
I had the MK2 LEAF before and while it's range was at best 150 miles on a full charge I averaged 4 miles per kWh.
My MG4 is only managing around...
Is there a way to see how many kWh for a charge?
My wife is away for the weekend, and the hotel she is staying at have said she can use the Granny charger, and to just pay for what she puts in the car.
However, I've only ever seen battery% in the car and app, not the actual kWh...
Hi! is this consumption normal in this month? When i drive i see the consumption above 20kWh/100km for a few km. After that the number normally drops below 20 like 14. Is this because of battery tempature is low at startup?

I don't know if anyone else has faced this, but I consistently see a 10% discrepancy in the charging rates and wonder if I can get to the bottom of this.
I charge at work using Amp/Fuuse chargers, which consistently report 7kW charging rates.
When I check the MG iSmart app about charging rate...
I have had an MG4 77 kWh for a few weeks now. I am charging it for the first time to go on a long trip. The specifications say the charger should charge at 11 kW, 3-phase. My Evnex X22 (3-phase) charger says the charging rate is 10.4 kW. The car says it is charging at 9.6 kW. I cannot see the...
Hi All
Two week in this car and need to ask on the ISmart app, in the battery you can set a battery heating to come on, do you know if this will turn its self off after some time or not.
I ask this as the most I be getting over the last two weeks is 3.5 miles / kWh and I was playing around with...
obviously i was parked at the top of a hill before starting off going down, but i was interested that the mi/kWh maxed out at 20.
I sustained this for 2 miles before I had to actually apply power and it went back to normal.
just for fun i thought id see if anyone else had got it to 20 and if...
When I added up all the kwh's from the bills and divided it by the distance driven, I ended up at 17.6 kwh per 100 km's. I'm not 100% what the consumption rate is since it had a reset at the dealer and after 100 hrs, but per 100 it will be close to 16 per 100. Which makes for a 10% load loss...
Last couple of days the power consumption number (since last charge) is not updating.
I'd normally leave this for a few days to get a better handle on it, but I'm going to really need that figure during a long trip planned on Sunday.
Has anyone else come across this?
It is stuck at 29.8 kWh /...
Below is the response from Ohme regarding my failure to charge my LR ZS EV at 7 kW, only accepting 4 kW charging instead.
"I've had a look at your charge history and when checking the OCPP statuses (communication between the car and the charger), I noticed the car appears to have gone into a...
Thought I might share with you our setup which now is paying us up to £30 per month:
The key to all of this is the differential between Octopus Intelligent Go and SEG payments from Octopus, (or any other provider). 7p inbound against 15p export with Octopus. You need to ensure that you export...
I'm charging my MG 4 SE SR with a granny charger.
I have a Shelly EM power meter monitoring the cable that feeds the 13A socket that the charger is plugged in to.

Hi,
Just sharing an Excel file I've built that calculates charging prices; compares prices based on distance made between charge, calculates average kWh prices per km per 100km , calculates the average km per kWh.
It also compares the prices of Gas/diesel Equivalent ( full tank; or the...
Now it’s a bit warmer I am getting much better range.
MG ZS EV LR SE. Nov 2022.
Didn’t have aircon turned on. Was doing mostly 20mph as it’s the Welsh speed limit.
Can anyone beat this?
X Power figures ONLY and 200 miles as a minimum mileage PLEASE.
G'day.
I have been away for the last week and I wanted to post up my real world figures.
Driving the car as I normally would with AC on, plenty of beanage and heated items ON as required.
I.E. Not trying to be particularly...
Hi all,
New to the MG4, had a Kona EV for 3 years. I have a Trophy Long Range 64 KWH and since owing this car I am constantly charging it. I only had to charge my Kona once a week and got about 245 miles range without issue.
I did 180 miles last week. To achieve this range I needed to charge 3...
Hi all, I have just charged up at a shell recharge, I was at 16% and charged to 80%, = 64%!! On the bill it said I had 42.22kWh. I paid £34.19. So 42.22 X 85p = £35.88 why didn’t I receive 64%? And why did they charge £34.19 when it should have been £38.88?
Whenever I visit a Tesla supercharger, it seems to debit my account in multiples of the price per kWh at that time.
How does it perform the rounding of the last few Wh delivered between me stopping the charge and the charger disconnecting?
At speeds above 70kW I can understand it well takes less...
