I sometimes here a slight knocking sound from the rear when reversing, especially if it's a slight hill. Anyone else have experienced this?

Try extending the rubber buffers at the bottom corners of the hatch a little or put a bit of insulation tape around the catch.

Yes - this will be it, I get this (live on a hill and reverse in) but I haven't bothered doing anything about it yet. Others have consistently reported this is the cause.

If none of the above works I'd consider having the end links/drop links looked at as the noise & conditions described are identical and an extremely common symptom of them being slightly loose. As they're connected to the rear sway/roll bar and sub frame the noise comes right through the cabin
