After heavy weather (rain followed by snow and freezing) I noticed something on one side of my rear light. It looks like a crack. It wasn't there last time I washed it and this was before the cold weather.
Today I went to the dealer and they made a full day appointment to take a look at my BT issues, having the wheels balanced and EKL yanking left/right simultaneously while driving straight ahead. They told me that they will send pictures of the rear lights to MG and they will decide if it's a warranty job or not, the foreman told me it looked like it got hit while driving. Strange, without doing any scratches or indentations to the surrounding parts...
The remaining issues they will fix under warranty. The car is a little bit over a month old.
There is a guy on the Dutch forums who has the same issue but his crack went bigger over time.
Having a look at the rear lights, it seems they are both mounted differently.

Could other people check if they have the same issue?

On the face of it, it does look like damage.
But if that was the case, I would expect the paint to be marked also.

Just checked my "gap" and it is the same both sides.
HTH.

The white lines at the edges of the light where already there when I took delivery of the car. The other side doesn't have those that pronounced. "Not a problem, that's cleaning residue." the sales person told me.

Same on mine :

Left from back of car (UK passenger side)
Right from Back of car (UK Driver Side)

Judging by the photos it seems to be coming from the inside.
