Could just be a loose earth wire on the motor.Quick volt meter check at the wiper motor first by the dealer should give a clue to what is going on.

Glad your sorted !.Well as a last gasp effort before going to dealer tomorrow I put some WD40 where the wiper connection is then gave the wiper a gentle bit of encouragement.
Hey presto it is now working!
