Recommend a 12V battery please

My MG5 I'm getting is 4 years old and it's got the original factory 12V battery and as it's gonna sit in a yard all week I don't want to come to it Friday afternoon and find it's dead.
Also I would like to run a 12V feed to the boot area for an extra socket

If no issues, why not get a battery booster pack

But wait till you get the car and have the existing one tested.

I'm also in the market for a new battery, as the cold weather has caused my 12V battery to be sitting around 13.5V (used to be at 14.1 all the time.

I've contacted Tanya, but they weren't, 100% sure that this was the correct battery for my 2022 MG5 LR......

When you turn the car on is the 12V very low (as in 11.*) and climbs as the main battery kicks in the power the car? if so it's most likely on the way out.

The Euroline you linked to seems fine, a bit more powerful but not massively so.

I've looked at the battery that you bought, and it's not listed as fitting my vehicle. Is it because my car is an long range model?

Is the battery hard to fit?

Halfords don't list any batteries for the MG5 that I can see. Mine was a LR as well, 72 plate and the battery fitted fine. Two adaptors on the bottom edges to remove to get it to fit under the slides was all.

/edit. you have to take the big plastic engine cover off. 10mm spanner to take the leads off, then you need a long extension socket (10mm) to get at the 2 retaining bolts. I also took the component just to the front of the battery off (13mm) to get a bit more space but it's not necessary.

Have I been lucky or what ?
In 60 years with 48 assorted motorcycles and cars I have only ever bought a new 6 volt battery. This was to try to fit within the casing of the old battery but I’ve never taken that any further.
So the batteries in all my other vehicles seem to have worked as intended during my ownerships. A Mini estate, a Maestro turbo diesel car and a Maestro diesel van all served us well for multiple years (the van over 200000 miles)
I had to do various repairs but never replaced a battery.

You are correct with type 027. I think an AGM battery is unnecessary but each to their own. Since you asked for recommendations and as there is no real power drain on the battery for starting I would go for a cheaper but perfectly good option, choose whatever puts your mind at ease.

I replaced our MG5 PFL 12v battery recently with a Varta Silverline from BMS Technologies Ltd. Much cheaper than Tayna, better still; enter your registration number and the they guarantee the batteries listed will fit your vehicle unlike most suppliers who put the onus on you.

That battery has much more power than an MG5 needs. I'm sure you don't need to pay the extra for a stop/start battery but I suppose it wont do any harm.

I to am thinking of changing the 12v battery in my 2024 MG5.
Although the car has only been registered for just over a year I suspect the car (and therefore the battery) are older.
I mostly do short runs which are not good for longevity of the 12v battery.
After an overnight trickle charge the battery is only reading 12.6v on the meter, which is 70 to 80% according to the attached table.
I did consider buying a booster jump starter but as they are quite pricey and not sure how long they would last (particularly as I am a bit forgetful and may not remember to keep it fully charged).
Lastly, although the 027 battery previously mentioned, will possibly fit the 075 is closer to the dimensions of my existing battery.

As someone who has needed to use his Battery Booster four times in the last two weeks, I think it is a price worth paying! As for not remembering to keep it fully charged, surely the answer is to "recharge" it after each use or after a given number of uses, perhaps 2 or 3? I have this one, bought more than 2 years ago, never used until very recently and it was still showing as 100% capacity (see the LCD screen).

The price shown on that linked page is more than I actually paid but rather less than its "normal" price.

Short runs don't make much difference to an EV. It hasn't had to pump out 3 or 400 amps into a starter motor to get the engine running. all it has to do is fire up the computer and flick the switch on the main battery.
A booster jump starter doesn't need to be expensive. You can pretty much buy the cheapest on amazon and it will be fine. As long as you charge it up each time you use it there isn't much to remember.

Thanks for your response and advice.
The booster you recommend looks good and reasonable price.
I was (wrongly) told that these boosters required regular charging (perhaps once per month) to ensure they would work properly. It’s good to know this is not the case and from someone who has actually used one.
I may yet invest in one but changing the battery is my first priority.
