Hi, I've bought some new jets after 2 and a half years of having my MG4 and just constantly fighting them and wasting gallons of wash fluid. I thought this would be a quick in and out job, but it seems I have to remove the black plastic between the hood and the windscreen and also remove the wipers themselves. I can't find any destructions or videos that may help. It feels a bit overkill and I don't want to damage the plastic etc. Anyone done this before that could offer a little advice please?

You don't have to remove the wiper blades according to this method supplied by another member:

Washer jet replacement MG4
The old units are held in with clips. Use a metal trim removal tool from the front of the jet (windscreen side). It is easier to hold the tool and come at it from the windscreen coming under the raised bonnet. Just pry it up and it pops out with a click, sounds like the clips have broken but they haven't. Then from the rear of the washer jet pry the other side up and out.
It’s likely the hose will pop off when you pull the washer jets up but don't worry too much.
Undo all the Philips head push pins on the scuttle panel and remove the fixings, there are 9 in total. Also remove the side trim from the wing to the windscreen, this unclips from the end closest to the screen first.
With all that undone you can lift the scuttle tray up enough to reach the underside and get hold of the hose, if you feel around, you can release some of the clips holding the hose tight to give you more play. Feed the hose through the new plastic bolt from the replacement jet and then push the hose through the opening of the scuttle tray. Connect the new jet to the hose and push it into the hole you pushed the hose through. Then tighten the nut onto the thread of the new jet - if you can't do that don't worry as the replacement jet is a snug fit and doesn't need it.
Refit the trim you removed, replace the push pins and you are good to go.
These new jets are adjustable so you can pretty much have the spray wherever you want.

Hi Kithmo, thanks for the reply. Yer, I read that thread but couldn't see any clips retaining the jets, so assumed the fixings would be in the cavity beneath the jets. I'll have another look tomorrow. The replacement jets are meant to be compatible, but they have a stem and a retaining nut, so I'm thinking these may now not be correct.

I gave it a try and was able to remove the jets, the only thing is that I couldn't remove the plastic trim from the sides and could not get enough room to secure the new jets. So gave this up as a bad job. Those side trims were not going to budge with out damaging the inner wing. Ah well, thanks for the advice.
