Just had a windscreen damaged by a stone and it will need to be replaced. However, there appears to be a backlog on MG ZS Hybrid screens and although I have an appointment with my 'local' (36 miles) insurance company's preferred supplier for the 28th May, they now say there is little chance of them having the actual windscreen in from MG.

Anyone else having similar problems or, even better, know of somewhere with a windscreen in stock. OK, only kidding.

I'm really happy with the car. The one concern I had before buying were the online complaints about parts availability which, I was assured by the dealer, were mainly from the competition. Clearly not and very disappointing. MG really have to up their game over parts. The cars are great value for money but if they are off the road for something as simple as a windscreen they will lose credibility.

In March I got my ZS Hybrid + shunted less than 24 hours from leaving the dealership, I went through my insurance to fix the damage to the rear bumper, when the car was assessed for what parts to be replaced I was told that the bumper was in stock but the black plastic insert would take 2 months due to a back log. In the end everything has been fixed.

On Tuesday I remotely defrosted the windscreen as I've done on many occasions. When I went out to the car, the windscreen was clear, but along the bottom was a crack from side to side😱. Initially I thought the hot air on an icy screen had caused it, but on further investigation, there was a tiny chip down in the black area where the sealant goo goes and the crack had radiated out from there.
I phoned my dealer and was told to do it through the car insurance. This I did and it was replaced by National Windscreens in Carlisle two days later, the only depot in the area that could recalibrate the cameras and sensors built in. It took about 3 hours and was advised not to use a car wash or pressure washer on it for a couple of days. I was concerned whether it was safe to drive, but was reassured by them that the windscreen is made up of two sheets of glass with a laminate of plastic in between, hence the crack but it didn't shatter, this for obvious safety reasons.
My dealer phoned me back the following day to find out how I was getting on and to tell me that they could order one, but it would take several days then I would have to book it in...etc. She was relieved that it was all arranged.
