Roof box!!

What affect does a roof box have on range. With a few long distance trips on the cards, a bit more luggage space could be useful.

I dont know what effect it has on an electric, when we had the diesel, It was not something that affected the mpg in any way that we could detect.

I suspect on the ZS it will be a bit different.

Have just bought roof bars and i have a roof box, but we only use this on holidays, so i have not tested it yet.

Not sure on the ZS but we did 1700 miles on our trip round Scotland in an MG5 LR.
It did have an effect on the economy, at best 3.6 miles per KW but the trade off with the amount of luggage we could carry was well worth it. As we had 4 people and a dog.

Just used our ZS EV with a roof box and was expecting the miles per kW to go through the floor but was pleasantly surprised. Not sure if it made much of a difference but I put the roof box as far towards the back as possible. Also kept the max speed to around 50mph (mostly although did creep up to 60/70 on a bit of dual carriageway. We were showing around the 4 miles per kW. This was a few weeks ago so hopefully the summer weather will balance out the lost miles from the drag...
