Hi all, after some help/advice please.

2021 HS with red interior (not that it matters) I am looking at replacing the seat cushion cover but have no idea of the complexity of the job and if any fittings are needed (hog clips as they used to be called when I worked for MG Rover back in the 80s and 90s).

Spoken to Stoneacre Derby who have quoted a surprisingly cheap £168 plus vat for the cover (was expecting double that). Does anyone have any form of instructions or such like to see if it is DIY feasible job or if it is dealer only job? Part in UK stock too 🤯 which is another great surprise.

Thank you in advance for any help or direction offered.

Adrian.

Are you talking front seat or back seats?

In my experience with the MG4 it's easy to put a seat cover on the front seats, but I had hell's own trouble with the back one. (Although having said that, some people have managed it.) I bought a set of seat covers when my car was new, and although it was a bit of a hassle I got all the pieces fitted easily except the back seat cushion.

My driver's seat cushion was showing wear and I was able to buy a replacement piece from the original supplier for about £23 ($25) so that was worth it.

Hi

Front drivers seat cushion cover only, backrest cover is fine, bolster on rh side has damaged to it.

Thanks for reply.

Have a look at this thread. If you can find someone offering seat covers that match the ones you already have, for your car, you could simply ask if they could supply that single piece. That's what I did and got it for £23. It's easy to fit.

Of you could consider investing in a complete set of covers to protect the car's own upholstery on a more long-term basis.

Hi ya.

Bit of confusion here, I am talking about the factory fit seat material, red part leather in my case, not accessory over seat covers that protect the seat as suggested in your link. That's why just the cushion cover is £200 Inc vat.

Thanks for your input though Rolfe 👍🏻 appreciated....

Yes, I did realise that, I was just offering a low-cost alternative to getting a replacement for the factory-fit material. If there is someone who does a similar-looking aftermarked cover, it might be nearly as good as replacing the factory-fit, no?
