Second Year Service

I got a new cabin air filter fitted as part of it.
The most valuable part of the service is the AA extension, as @pd2 said.
Thats is very true i have just sorted out the service sheet that MG use and my garage has just added 30min to the MOT. £90 all in and its still warranty compliant.

I will add the sheet on here

Here in Norway at brand dealers first year is about 3500 NOK (about £250), second year about 4500 NOK ( about £325). So your prices seems quite reasonable! 🤣

Average income is much higher in Norway and hence so are the price of services.

I just checked the service cost on mine (2nd year, 39000km) which is 340 euros and Finland is not a high-income country. It includes changing the brake fluid, fob battery and air filter.

What is the Average Salary in Finland? The average monthly salary in Finland is €4032, which translates to about $4183. The country's wages are relatively high due to its strong social welfare system and highly educated workforce.

That's more than 30% higher than the UK and double that of here in Cyprus.

The countries in that region tend also to have much higher taxation, so whilst salaries may be higher the living standards aren't necessarily higher than the UK/Cyprus etc. :)

Finland's average annual disposable income per household is higher than that of the UK. This is in addition to the social services such as child care and tertiary education being provided free of charge. It also consistently ranks higher than the UK in all quality of life rankings.

The state pension in Finland is €2,100 per month, in the UK it is €1,107.

The CPI for Finland and the UK are almost identical and yet incomes in Finland are higher, the state pension is twice that of the UK. Additionally, many social services are provided free of charge in Finland.

I think you've misinterpreted my post ... I know incomes are higher in Finland (and Norway etc.), so are taxes and other outgoings like shopping prices.

I'm not saying the UK is better, or that Finland is better. Just that the base numbers on income (or disposable income) don't tell the whole story. :)

Slightly controversial this : mines booked in for its second service in a months time, and in the main for the last year has been faultless. In the last couple of months niggly software problems have developed , all cleared with a reset , and then minor charging niggles , and finally today , it would not go into "ready" citing a steering fault. Get out, lock, unlock cured that!
Does anyone else think that some of the software is time sensitive and after a set period of time ( just before the next scheduled service ) starts playing up just as a reminder that it is not infallible and the workshop is in need of an input of funds from a suitable cash cow. 🐮💲

Mmmm, slightly Cynical. And I'd like to think not. And very much doubt it. But who, knows. 🤷‍♂️
Well, this forum is the place to test the theory. Has any MG4 or any MG owner found that 2 months before its next scheduled ( timewise ) service there has been a noticeable increase in the amount of niggly software related problems beyond the scope of reasonable statistical probability ?⁉️

I didn't have a niggly software problem before my second service but the CCU decided it didn't like AC electrons anymore. Probably got fed up with them not making their minds up whether they were coming or going. 6 months in and still waiting for a replacement.

You don't understand the term 'disposable income'

Ridiculous situation, even factoring in the Houthis restricting Red Sea passages. Maybe todays air cargo planes are not big enough for a CCU unit?

Yes I do - it seems it is you that doesn't understand it. 🤦‍♂️

Disposable income is total personal income minus current taxes on income. In national accounting, personal income minus personal current taxes equals disposable personal income or household disposable income. Subtracting personal outlays yields personal savings, hence the income left after paying away all the taxes is referred to as disposable income

It's the diagnostics and availability of the courtesy cars which have taken so long. The part, once MG had agreed that it needs replacing, took 2 weeks to arrive in stock.

At my third service they said I needed new rear disks and pads but they did not stock them and it would take 5 days to get them in! Surely essential consumables like that should be in stock in every dealer - I've a 90 minute round trip to the dealer, so a massive waste of my time.
