I have a 2023 MG5 Trophy SW Long Range, which has done around 35k miles. The service light recently came on and I also received a text message from my local MG dealer, letting me know the car is due for a service soon. I was planning to have it serviced by a local MG specialist, rather than the dealer (MG Poole). It was last serviced there almost a year ago. Looking at the MG website to check the service intervals, it appears the MG5 only needs to be serviced every other year. So if this is correct, it shouldn't need a service for another year. Or is the info I found only for when you take out a service plan in advance? It's not really clear.
I was planning to call the dealer to query this. Before I do, does anybody else have experience of this.
I'm curious as to whether the people at the MG dealership haven't updated their system to reflect 2 year servicing requirements OR whether they are trying to get me to book a service which is not actually required yet. Any info will be gratefully received. Cheers
