Small tear on the side of the rear bumper - replace or repair?

Someone decided to drive into the back of my MG4 and then drive off without exchanging details .
I am assuming that the insurance repairer will go for the replace option and that will gobble up all my excess - I went for a large one to reduce cost.
Planning to get some alternate quotes before seeing what the repairer will charge.

This cost me about £360 to repair, if that's any help. Local bodyshop. The damage was fortunately confined to a single panel, but that looks to be about true for the above as well.

Yeah you might get away with cleaning it up. Fingers crossed.

Is there any damage to the fixing on to the car (behind the wheel)?

If there is damage the bodyshop will be looking to replace the whole bumper, which cost us £1,150 with the labour and painting the bumper. That included the non-painted plastic lower/middle part of the bumper as well though and we had a bracket damaged too. Your damage looks much less significant than ours was based on your photo here.

I'm not sure if my answer will help you, but...
The insurance company finally agreed that, as the other driver was uninsured, they would cover the claim and the excess. I thus went with their repairer - they just patched the issue, no replacement.
They would not tell me what the cost was - it seems the work was between them and the insurer
