Software versions - newbe

Hi all
I just got my first 2023 MG4 SE 64kWh.
Quick question. My MPU shows 1100R13. And MCU 69.1.1.1
My infotainment seems out of date and R59 appears to be the newest version I can see from posts etc.

Any anyone tell me if my version is old and should I get it upgraded?

I have the same 2023 SE LR ( rear wiper and middle headrest ) and that came with R21 later updated to R33 . I have not been keeping up , but I think the latest is R38.
Don't ask for an update but say its not working correctly on its present version , they can then update it as a fault . ( freebie ) If you want the latest version without complaining then they will possibly charge you. A quick look /search through the relevant pages here will come up with lists of glitches you can utilise.

Thanks for this. I'll call and ask. Lane assist doesn't work at (not a bad thing) and sport defaults to snow mode (just the name as the Internet says as you still get the sport speed etc).

The dealer I bought it off said they'll pay for the update, so no skin off my noise.

Does the update provide anything useful or new?

The R number just relates to the infotainment screen . The most noticeable thing is that you should get the outside temperature being shown on the main screen . Other improvements might work in the background or change the way the A/C is displayed, which you would only notice if they were dodgy or really old in the first place,. Once the dealer has it connected to the server in China it may well update other modules or service campaigns which will hopefully improve the way the car operates, but these are not recorded on the cars screens , if the dealer is decent you will get the information of what has been done. If not , welcome to our world!

My verison gives me outside temperature.

I've had the radio not switching station (the radio station selection is terrible - not being able to quick selected through your favourites is so frustrating). Unless there is a way to do that I've not figured.

The infotainment screen did tell me the car wasn't charging when I was plugged into the granny charger as I wait for my rapid to be installed. The charger lights and battery did flash / increase, so something there to fix also i guess?
The dealer couldn't even tell me the most up to date software numbers. Not ideal.

I'll get it updated since its a free -be for me
