Solid rubber bar showing under engine

I have recently noticed a solid rubber bar showing under the car. I have looked at other similar models as mine but they do not show this under their cars. Does anyone know what this is and what caused it

This is what is hanging down, you have gone over something to put it off.

Can you say if it is a hazard that needs to be fixed

It needs to taken off if you can if not get it fixed before you completely lose it.

I do not know but it’s there to protect stiff hitting what is behind it I would think.

I notice my bit of rubber was half off, its set back a bit from the front and more under engine

My guess it was a wind or spray deflector more than protection and held on by plastic poppers

Had to pull it off and will get replaced during service

Hi. Got it repaired as last post says it was poppers that came off. New post new ones fitted.

This is just an air dam trim . Mine came off when I hit a kangaroo road kill carcass . Easy enough to fix yourself if you have the right rivets .
