Speaking button

Sorry in advance if this sound really stupid but i have looked through the book and cant see it anywhere.

On the right hand side of the steering wheel there is a buttong with * on it and next to thay is. A button with a person talking. I have pressed when my phone is connected and pressed it when its not connected and it doesn't seem to do anything.

Anyone know??

If you go into the setup on the radio you can customise the * button to do different things like control your phone or the radio,
Sorry but I can't remember which sub menu it's in.
The speaking button works with android auto or apple and is for voice commands

Is your phone connected with a cable?

Yes, it has to be to use android auto or apple.
You can call or play music via Bluetooth but for full use you need a cable and a good one at that or it sometimes fails to work

I keep trying to attach with a cable and on the off chance it works it only allows me to access maps.... (android)

No just blue tooth. When i connected it with a cable all i was able to access was maps. ?
