Steering column rattle

Anyone experienced a rattle from steering column.

I can make it away by unlocking the steering rake lever but comes back when I lock it again.

Apart from these rattles round the car genuinely content with it so would be chuffed if I can find them and fix them.

I believe the ZS EV model had a fundamental issue with steering columns that needed a recall to fix. But I've not heard of such issues with the MG4 - yours is the first that I can think of (here in this forum I mean).

Mine has a steering column rattle and a sort of bump in the feel when turning to centre from about 180 degrees right. It’s booked in to be looked at under warranty.

Ok, this is a new one then!

I wonder what else awaits us. I believe the ZS steering column issue was a painful experience to get resolved.

Yes I have this too as of only a couple of weeks ago (the car is 8 months old now) but I'm not entirely sure if it's coming from the steering column, or closer the instrument display screen above it as mentioned here What is your opinion on your MG4 for build quality - Good or Bad

It would be interesting to hear what the result when they do the warranty inspection for you @unbornidentity

So did they sort that rattle out? I was just waiting to get mine looked at when the next software release arrives to save two visits… but that could be a while so instead I was thinking of taking it in and giving them a clue where to look for the rattle in case it’s the same cause as yours.

They said they couldn’t find anything wrong.

Mine knocks lightly when it's turned off, like as if there's play in it, but the knock disappears when I put it in ready mode.
