Suspension upgrade

Because they are so new to the market there may be limited or no aftermarket options available yet

As the title suggest I'm looking for any different suspension for the Mg5 the stock suspension is just too soft for my liking especially going round corners
Not sure suspension is going to make much difference. How fast are you attempting to corner??

I've found that the MG5 actually sticks to the road pretty well, admittedly the body roll doesn't fill you with confidence but if you can ignore it you'll find it can corner pretty bloody well. Find an empty car park and try it for yourself.

You could potentially fit shorter, higher rated springs - no doubt there will be a compatable set available from a mainstream manufacturer. I’m sure there will also be upgraded dampers available too - but you’re going to have to essentially build your own ‘kit’ from existing parts - so find a local suspension specialist who’s willing to experiment and advise 🤷‍♂️

Im not exactly going F1 style cornering lol

Yea as the driver yes can feel that the car is ok but 2 of my family gets motion sick so the soft squishyness is the last thing i need to deal with. : D

I think the suspension is too soft as well but I'm not going to modify it whilst the car is under warranty.

I find the suspension fine and ideal for the deteriorating British roads. Way better than VW, Merc BMW etc, which are all too hard. Yes they handle well but they really ‘crash’ on rough surface and don’t ride pot holes and speed bumps etc. My main criticism of the 5 is the under steer and the lack of front wheel grip under throttle, even a gentle acceleration can provoke the front tyres. I guess that’s why a lot of manufacturers are going for rear wheel drive on 2wd versions. New wheels and tyres might be a safer and cheaper option as a first move?? Compromise on consumption and range maybe??

In a muddy fields or in the snow FWD is better than RWD......look at all the sets of BMW winter wheels on eBay!

I too suffer from front wheel 'squeak' if i'm driving vigorously.....always get a frown from the co-driver.:censored:

Ye if I'm sat in the front it feels OK... but in the back we do feel a bit motion sick..

I also feel that the wheels are terrible for wheel spinning. Is there any traction control on the MG5 as it doesn't feel too much traction control if that's the right word. When I need to change tyres i might try and look for wider more gripier wheels.

There's a good debate to be had about what's the best option for the next set of tyres.
I would trade some efficiency for better performance but wouldn't go as far as changing rim size.

I had the front wheels chirping a few times after picking up my car. Took me a while to realise they were over inflated from the dealer, 38psi instead of the recommended 32psi.
Might be worth checking before buying new tyres etc.

Ditto. I call it boat mode for those big puddles at 70mph.....
