Hi all. I'm due to pick up my New MGS5 Trophy next week having been in an MG4 for 3 1/2 yrs .

Could I ask what MPU and MCU software versions should be installed as I really don't want to go backwards and forwards from the dealer to get updates .
Is there anything else I should particularly look for at handover ?

As far as I'm aware there have been no software updates for the MGS5 unlike the MG4.

Out of courtesy unbind your MG4 from the iSmart app before the handover.

Check the tailgate opens fully and closes with a soft final movement. Also check the battery terminals are tight as like some MG4s some dealers forget to tighten them during the PDI.

One omission that is very much missed, is the 12 volt battery status 🤷🏻.

Thanks for your replies .
I picked up yesterday and have to say that I'm very impressed! I really liked my MG4 but this is a step up in every way (admittedly I had a SE SR MG 4 and now have a Trophy)
Only slight niggles are stuttery wireless AA and a tailgate which stubbornly refuses to open regardless of how much I waggle my foot under the rear bumper. ( Yes the switch is set) Now looking forward to my first long drive this evening .

Tbh - I rarely use the foot sensor thingy myself.
I tend to just use the button on the fob to open and close the hatch.
By the time you have messed about wiggling your foot around getting it to open, you just hit the fob button on your way back to the car and it’s open ready for you to load your goods !.
It could be handy if you have your hands full of course, but holding stuff and balancing on one leg is not great either 🤣

Good for entertaining, onlookers, too.
Stood there, wiggling ya foot. 🙄😉🙂

Bloody thing doesn't always work anyway, slightest bit of crud on the sensor and it's back to putting down the pack donkey load and fumble for the key fob. 🗝️😂
