Away to take delivery of my ZS Ev in the next couple of weeks any tips / advice from current owners on apps I should get / things I should be checking for?

I already noticed some posts about a BMS update but how would I tell if this was installed?

Any other helps / tips much appreciated.

Get a charging lead.

Yes, it comes with a granny charger, but it never hurts to have the option of using destination chargers, supermarkets, train stations etc. Don't have to buy the MG one, it's a bit pricey, and other options are available online.

Also, have a search on here for obd reader, and grab one online. I'd recommend that for any car, not just an EV. There's a lot of info that's interesting to have access to.

I can recommend carmats.co.uk if you need mats

And this type 2 cable if you need one.
Amazon product ASIN B08LKT4JNB

Zapmap and the Electric Juice card from Octopus Energy as it covers a number of charger networks and is added to your Octopus bill no pre authorization fees.

Thanks I will have a look.

I am in the process of sorting out getting my Smart Pro Home EV Charger installed and I do have a number of chargers within 5mins drive of my home luckily.

Thanks I always get rubber car mats and had seen these so not sure if they would do the job or not?

And where would the cable essentially come in handy?

I called Octopus about joining them but they said i am better sticking with my fixed price contract with EDF that runs until December as there pricing would be higher just now even with the comparison against Octopus Go.

I also saw posts about bulbs.

Is this & this still the correct bulbs for the vehicle as ebay seems to think otherwise?

You need the cable if you want to use the majority of public 7 kWh chargers. You will also need it if you have an un-tethered charger installed at home. You don't need it for rapid DC chargers.

Thanks for the info I’m a real novice just now. I never realised this as all the chargers I have in my area have the cables attached to the them. I am also getting a tethered charger installed at home.

There are some hb3 leds for sale Here in the classifieds threads which will fit your car as I have a set in our ZS
Thanks how do you find the light projection? Is it the same make as in the listing you have?

I noticed some comments in the other thread about led bulbs and people getting flashed as other drivers think they were oncoming to full beam lights?

LED lamps fitted to non standard LED light units, are a failure under the new current MOT requirements.
Just saying !.

It doesn’t make any difference what produces the light as the cut off point isnt from a reflecter it’s from a mechanical shutter, so if you park the car infront of a wall, mark the cut off on the wall then Change the bulbs to leds the cut off point is the same, I changed our bulbs in the ZS and the 5 to those leds and I’ve never been flashe’d ( had the ZS last June).
also be aware as the ‘just sayin’ police’ are just sayin it could be an mot failure. So don’t throw the original bulbs away.

ok thanks for the info.

I hear the standard bulbs are not the greatest and the leds can help with battery drain so will def look at switching them out when the car comes and keep the originals in the garage.

Looks like the ones for sale and the ones on the ebay listing are both the HB3 bulb but it is good to hear someone with personal experience.

NO - It is not a COULD be situation it IS an MOT failure !.
"Not just saying" - It's a FACT !.

remember the 10mm spanner, in case you need to 'reboot' the car (disconnect the 12v battery for a min)
